The Columbia Harbour House is one of the Magic Kingdom’s hidden gems. The location, tucked in the corner at the transition between Liberty Square and Fantasyland (making it the only restaurant or attraction to span two lands), is often overlooked and often makes for a fine place for the weary Magic Kingdom guest to escape the insanity for a few minutes. Especially nice is the 2nd floor room which sits atop the breezeway separating the lands — the intimate window seats provide a beautiful view of the park.

Nautically themed, the background music consists of sea chanties and other seafaring tunes, along with a great arrangement of “Whale of Tale” from the film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It should come as little surprise then that some of these tracks were simultaneously used in a different order as the background music on the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction, where they were occasionally punctuated by Pete Renaday’s Captain Nemo, who offered queued guests interesting facts about the sea and its denizens.

This recording was made on December 31, 1994, from a speaker inside the Columbia Harbour House.
