Relive EPCOT Center’s World of Motion in 3D sound

Test Track may be thrilling, but the attraction which preceded it, World of Motion, was the unadulterated spirit of Disney through and through. Although solely attributed to Ward Kimball, the attraction contains many humorous scenes designed by Marc Davis using his trademark style of show scenes punctuated by audioanimatronic figures making subtle movements. It’s the robotic equivalent of today’s Cinemagraph photography.

Pirates of the Caribbean was a last-minute addition to the Magic Kingdom, which was supposed to receive a brand-new Marc Davis-designed attraction named “Western River Expedition” in its place. Take a ride 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea in 3D sound

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was a Magic Kingdom opening-day attraction and one of the most unique rides that ever graced an amusement park. A cousin to Disneyland’s Voyage Through Liquid Space, whose script seems to have been largely based off of sections of Jules Verne’s book about Captain Nemo’s voyages anyway, wisely relocated the attraction from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland.
